Tank cycle in 9 days? (Dr Tims day by day results)
When I bought my first Kessils probably 8 years ago I was so stunned that since that day I consider kessil as the best light ever. Back then it was bigger, now it is really small. It powers most of my tanks. It brings life with the amazing shimmer and colours. My new build will have kessils because there is nothing better. I was here to see how other lights can play as a potential new light but no shimmer???:) thank you radion I stay with Kessil :)
My daughter and I both went to the same store and purchased the exact same colony, split down the middle at the store 3 heads each of a particular torch, she drip acclimated then dipped then tank, I dipped and then tank, mine opened right up within 30 mins and hers opened up the next day, before you all go on about xyz her tank is identical to mine, skimmers filters, etc, and I supply the saltwater for both when I say exact same even chemistry is almost 100% identical, I’ve always done it that way she has always drip acclimated before dipping. We both ensure temperature is the same as the tank so I guess I’m probably the best example to use in this process as two methods in identical systems one works quicker and I believe less stressful to the corals, my daughter still argues the point. I look at it this way if it was open swaying at the store and 30 mins after introducing it into your tank it’s like it was in the store then isn’t the coral happy? Heck we even use the identical lighting schedule and levels. Look it’s your hobby your money your setup, do what you want, all I’m trying to say is this process works for me 100% of the time.
Thanks for the video a lot of information I love it trying to set up my tank
That’s what she said
Loved the vid! Was wondering if dosing with All For Reef would there be calcium build up? I want to use the RO line but scared it will build up and not be able to see. Thanks for any tips/advice
Thank you, i got it and it did not come with instructions
Are you taking the 1ml of reagent to the top of the first or second black rubber ring in the syringe?
What kelvin is your lighting?
At 4:40?
How much would that grafted montipora go for?
Good video thansk
I use tank transfer method. Defiantly should do some type of QT there is a lot more out there then just ich.
Methylene blue and sea chem prime really helps a lot if you buy fish from online.
I love your aquscape, how many kilograms of stones did you use?
If you start with live rock, transported in water, and get some sand from an established tank you can just add fish day 1... no cycle as the tank is precycled.
It worked for me! Thank you! 🙏🏽
8 min in and you still babling about Reef teez, im out

I love the cyphastrea growing off the frag rack onto the right side of the glass. One of my top fav. corals! Mine has finally taken off with a growth spurt and can’t wait to see it spread.
About 4 years ago I got my son a goldfish tank for Christmas. I knew nothing about really keeping a tank, keep in mind. I hopped on youtube to figure it out. About an hour later down the rabbit hole I stumbled across this video. From that moment I breathed, slept and dreamed reef tanks. I had to get one. After about 3 months, 10k youtube videos and 10k dollars I got my first saltwater tank. I'm still terrible at it but man am I having fun. I still come back to this video in hopes I can have a tank some what remotely beautiful as this. This tank is a masterpiece. P.S the goldfish tank went to the dump lol!
I am sorry if you covered this but how do you drain the water out of your tank to do a water change? Great video by the way!!
Wow man, your corals look superb, what lights are you running?
How often do you dose?
Is it normal for them to lay at the bottom when first entering the tank? They are two clown fish
If I build a quarantine fish tank, what should I do with the tank after each quarantine? Since there is mature filter material in the fish tank, can I just change 100% of the water to remove the residual drugs in the water? Thank you
Cant hear what you have to say after 2:45. Which is a shame as i was looking forward to part 2
I think the reason you haven't been seeing nitrite is because you've been under dosing the ammonia. According to doctor Tim you want between 2ppm and 3ppm ammonia, you don't want it to be above 5ppm. Above 5ppm the ammonia becomes toxic for the nitrite-nitrate conversion bacteria. Also, temperature should be between 80 and 85.
Is this just a temporary measure or will it work long-term? Also, will it work inside the tank? I have a 210 that as a very minor leak at the rear bottom and I was wondering if this is a viable option to totally resealing the tank? OK I put this comment in before I finish watching the video so I’m assuming what you’re saying this is just a temporary fix so it’s not something that I can use long-term for the 210 that I have that is leaking?
Wow what a Dream tank. I could stare at that all day every day. Kudos to the owner. I have trouble getting GSP to grow LOL
Thanks for your video I am just seeing it now 5 years later . I have a powder blue who had ICH I just left him alone it corrected itself.my blue face koi had it too , I left them both alone they recovered without any medication.
That’s a beautiful tang in that tiny tank! Love it! ❤️
Best qt video ever! Do you have to treat or dont some people just observe and then treat? I guess observing then treating could take a lot longer! also what about adding fritz turbo start, i heard that cycle with fish in 5 days with no ammonia spikes or is that only if you have live rock sand ect?
Very well done video, easy clear English with no speech impediments and annoying mouth noises omg thank you 🙏
What about using de-Ionised to clean it?
Will algae grow with keeping the lights on for this long?
That’s a bummer that we never get to see this tank update
why do you have a hippo tank in a small aquarium?
How is this light fixture actually made ? Can you link the pieces needed to build please ???
I didn’t like the test it’s still running it’s corse and I’m 9 days in
Very informative, thanks 😊
I’m doing the exact thing. I’ve watched in detail the other video you referenced. It says in the directions “are your values above 5ppm if not add more ammonia” You needed more ammonia for the first part prior 7th day. I’m on 7th day nitrite 3. is up ammonia is 4ppm nitrates roughly 20 meaning it’s cycling. I’m gonna add more bacteria to battle ammonia faster to transfer to nitrates.
I’m not sure you did it right. Something isn’t adding up. The directions want ammonia above 5ppm. Are you sure you put enough bacteria. Read the paper again.
Bro our interests are quite matching i also live rc planes and jets also aquariums 😅
Your tank is almost exactly like mine. It’s just mine are still small frags but I have same mixes at same heights and same species. Love it
This tank is one of the reasons I got into the hobby. I hope you and the reef are still thriving.
Once he said do your cycle with your lights on I can’t listen or trust anything else he says ✌🏽
I have a lot of gsp and love it, now it doesn’t matter if you have it on a single rock, the gsp will grow under the sand I took a 2” x 2” piece from under the sand that was buried and I was thinking that was only little strip but no, it was big and I glue it to another rock and is spreading. Gsp will grow under sand buried trying to reach another rock or surface
I hate my tank now after seeing this ! The colors are insane. I think I need better lighting. My GSP mat is falling off
GOALS!!! Do you have a placement map available for what and where you placed these corals?
